Over the years, its historic building at the village center has played various roles, serving as a stagecoach stop along the route between Boston and Montreal, a quaint inn, a filling station, and, more recently, an all-encompassing store. The transformation of the store in the 1970s was made possible thanks to the visionary efforts of Carol Lippincott, while the Smith family and the dedicated storekeeper Jack Garvin played pivotal roles in its more recent history. Today, the store finds itself under the ownership and management of seasoned Vermont residents, Gale and George Dorsey, who carry forward its enduring legacy.
