Description: Constructed between 1853 and 1854, Brandy Gap Tunnel #2 was a crucial component of the B&O Railroad line, serving the Northwestern Virginia Railroad, which reached completion in May of 1857. However, in 1985, the railway abandoned operations along this route, discontinuing runs from Clarksburg to Parkersburg due to diminishing traffic and the availability of alternative routes. The tunnel is also the subject of numerous ghost stories, with various legends attempting to explain the hauntings.
