Description: On one side of the rock, you'll find a depiction of Francis Drake, who was a Union Army brigadier general, associated with Drake University, and served as the Governor of Iowa. Positioned behind him is the first USS Iowa, which was the inaugural ship commissioned in honor of Iowa and played a significant role in the Spanish–American War. On the opposite side of the rock, there is a heartwarming scene portraying a father embracing his daughter upon his return from military service. In the backdrop, you can see the charming Centerville square. The Ringgold County Freedom Rock is situated on the town square, just across from the Continental Hotel, proudly showcasing these powerful and meaningful artworks.
