Description: In a heartfelt dedication ceremony on a Saturday, the Delaware County Freedom Rock was unveiled to honor the memory of seven local men who bravely sacrificed their lives while serving our country during the Vietnam era. This touching monument was skillfully painted in 2019 by renowned Iowa artist Ray "Bubba" Sorensen, who has been diligently creating Freedom Rocks in each of Iowa's 99 counties over the past decade. You can find this significant rock situated in Dundee, gracefully positioned in the city park, just alongside W-69. The Delaware County Freedom Rock serves as a powerful tribute to these fallen heroes and symbolizes the community's gratitude and remembrance for their service and sacrifice.
