Description: The idea for Sara the Camel originated from individuals associated with the Glenboro and District Chamber of Commerce, aiming to attract notice to both the local community and the nearby Spirit Sands situated just six miles north of Glenboro, within Spruce Woods Provincial Park. Created by sculptor George Barone, this impressive structure stands at a towering height of 17 feet and boasts a weight exceeding 2000 pounds. On October 11, 1978, Sara the Camel was officially installed at this location. Presently, the responsibility for maintaining Sara has been undertaken by the Glenboro Community Development Corporation.
