Description: The Roddy Road Covered Bridge is a historic wooden covered bridge located in Thurmont, Maryland. It was built in 1856 and is one of only six remaining covered bridges in the state. The bridge spans Owen's Creek and is 40 feet long. It was originally built to provide access to the nearby Roddy family mill and has since become a popular tourist attraction. The bridge was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1978 and underwent restoration in 2010 to ensure its preservation for future generations.
