Description: Fairview Lawn Cemetery is a historic cemetery located in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada. It is known for being the final resting place of many victims of the RMS Titanic, as well as other notable individuals. After the Titanic sank in 1912, the cable ship RMS Mackay-Bennett was dispatched from Halifax to recover the bodies of the victims. Of the 306 bodies recovered, 121 were brought to Halifax, and 59 were buried at Fairview Lawn Cemetery. The graves are marked with simple granite headstones, bearing the names and dates of those who perished in the Titanic disaster. Fairview Lawn Cemetery also serves as the burial site for numerous other individuals, including veterans, prominent citizens, and members of the local community.
