Description: Brigham City, once a bustling settlement in Navajo County, Arizona, USA, has now become a ghost town. Established in 1876 by members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, it was located approximately one and a half miles north of Winslow's present city center, along the banks of the Little Colorado River. In 1878, it was formally organized as a Latter-Day Saints ward, but by 1881, the town had been deserted. The area was settled by twenty Mormon families and fifteen bachelors who had relocated from Salt Lake City. They constructed homes within protective walls, originally spanning 200 feet in length and standing 7 feet tall. Unfortunately, the town's fate took a turn when flash floods swept away the dams and irrigation systems, resulting in crop failures and ultimately leading to its abandonment by 1881. According to the US Census of 1880, Brigham City had a population of 191 residents at its peak.
