Description: "Dicey," as it has come to be affectionately known, was discovered near the store close to City Park in March 2017. It was later revealed that this massive die, believed to be a repurposed water tank weighing well over 1,000 pounds, initially appeared on the shores of a property along the Coeur d'Alene River in Cataldo, Idaho, in 2001. During a period of flooding in 2008, the tank was carried away and eventually landed at Driftwood Point. It remained there for some time until a local property owner decided to add some white dots to transform it into a giant die. In 2017, it once again became adrift and resurfaced in downtown Coeur d'Alene. Since no one came forward to claim ownership, the City assumed possession of it. The official installation of "Dicey" took place on Tuesday, April 7, 2020. A plaque accompanying the die commemorates this serendipitous encounter, revealing its name and origin story: "Dicey," it proudly proclaims, "A gift from Lake Coeur d'Alene, Spring 2017."
