Description: In honor of the mountain men and their legacy, the town of Wilsall, Montana, installed a statue in the Shields River Valley, adjacent to US Route 89. This sculpture was crafted by a local artist named Gary Kerby. Interestingly, the distinction of naming the depicted mountain man was bestowed upon the first-grade class of 2006-07, and they chose the name "Thunder Jack" for this iconic figure.
