Description: Shunkawauken Falls is a 150-foot waterfall situated in Polk County, close to Columbus, North Carolina. The falls are supplied by a pond a short distance upstream. While it's a popular local attraction, it's worth noting that it is located on private property. According to local legend, in the 1800s, this area was purportedly inhabited by a Native American chief named Shunkawauken.
