Description: The "Tree of 40 Fruit," also known as Tree 75, is located at Syracuse University in New York. Created by artist and Syracuse University professor Sam Van Aken, this unique tree is grafted to produce 40 different types of stone fruits, including peaches, plums, apricots, nectarines, cherries, and almonds. The project began in 2008 when Van Aken acquired an orchard from the New York State Agricultural Experiment Station and grafted various fruit branches onto a single tree. The tree blooms with multicolored flowers in spring and bears a variety of fruits sequentially from July to October. This living artwork symbolizes acceptance and dialogue, dedicated during a 9/11 remembrance event in 2011
