Description: Big Tree Park is a public park located in Seminole County, Florida, USA. The park is known for being home to "The Senator," one of the oldest and tallest cypress trees in the world. The Senator was a massive bald cypress tree estimated to be around 3,500 years old and stood at approximately 118 feet tall with a circumference of over 35 feet. Tragically, on January 16, 2012, The Senator was destroyed in a fire caused by a suspected arson incident. The fire completely consumed the tree, leaving only a charred stump behind.
