Description: The sheer variety of motorcycles on display may initially overwhelm visitors. Spanning nearly nine decades of history, the collection showcases machines from eight different countries, catering to an interest in almost every brand of two-wheeled transport. Alongside American-made bikes, you'll find examples from France, Italy, Germany, and even lesser-known origins. Jim, the museum's owner, began his collection with a 1931 Indian 4-cylinder, acquired at a farm auction in December 1967. Originally intended to be sold a few years later to fund his daughter's college tuition, Jim's attachment to the Indian led him to hold onto it, even when the time came to make the financial decision. Over 30 years later, the cherished Indian remains a centerpiece of the exhibit. Unlike some collectors who rush to acquire pieces, Jim took his time. His second addition, a 1926 Harley-Davidson BA, was obtained nearly two years after the Indian through a trade. Initially unsuccessful in selling it among other used motorcycles, Jim decided to include it in his burgeoning collection. Acquiring the BA for less than $1,000 in 1969 proved to be a wise move, as vintage Harley-Davidsons like these have significantly appreciated over time.
