Description: As you stroll along Ogunquit's Marginal Way cliff walk, there's one unique feature that stands out—a Maine lighthouse, or so it seems. This miniature lighthouse along the route never fails to draw a crowd eager to capture its picture-perfect charm and undeniable roadside attraction appeal. Originally constructed in 1948 by Winfield C. Littlefield, a member of the local family who were among the town's first settlers, this "lighthouse" was designed by Grover S. Perkins. Over the years, the structure endured the harsh effects of salt air and strong winds, resulting in the replacement of certain parts. Notably, in 1993, the top section (lantern) was replaced with fiberglass, and in 2009, the structure underwent upgrades, all made possible by generous donations. This iconic roadside lighthouse will continue to serve as a guiding beacon for both tourists and locals who navigate Marginal Way, adding to the allure of this beloved coastal pathway.
