It retains small remnants of concrete adhered to its surface. This beam, measuring 19 feet in length and weighing 12,000 pounds, was procured by the Chatham County 911 First Responder Memorial Foundation as a generous donation from The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey. In proximity, there stands a concrete sign bearing the poignant words, "We shall always remember." Another inscription on the sign serves as a poignant reminder, stating, "444 miles to Ground Zero."
