Description: Long Lake Dam stands as a concrete gravity dam situated on the Spokane River, straddling the border between Lincoln County and Stevens County in eastern Washington, approximately 30 miles (48 km) northwest of Spokane. Its primary function is to create Long Lake, a reservoir spanning 23.5 miles (37.8 km) in length. Additionally, the dam boasts a hydroelectric power generation capacity of 71 megawatts. This impressive structure was constructed by Washington Water Power, now known as Avista Utilities, which also manages five additional dams along the Spokane River.
