Description: The West Virginia Veterans Memorial, located in Charleston, WV, is a significant tribute honoring more than 10,000 West Virginians who sacrificed their lives in major 20th-century conflicts, including World War I, World War II, the Korean War, and the Vietnam War. This two-story oval monument, designed by P. Joseph Mullins, features four limestone monoliths surrounding a reflecting pool and interior walls faced with polished black granite etched with the names of the fallen. The memorial includes bronze sculptures representing a soldier from each of the four wars, each in full period gear. Situated within the State Capitol Complex, the memorial offers a serene space for reflection and remembrance of those who served and died for their country
