Description: The Barkerville Highway, Highway 26, runs from Quesnel to Barkerville. It is a nice two lane paved highway with fairly low traffic volumes and plenty of curves. At the east end of the highway is the historic 1870's goldrush town of Barkerville which is well worth a visit. Along the way Cottonwood House is a well preserved and maintained historic roadhouse worth visiting. Near Barkerville is the 1930's gold mining town of Wells where food and usually gas, is availble. - Robert M - MM
