Description: As a motorcyclist tourist, you’ll find Latrun to be an intriguing destination in Israel. Let me highlight some key attractions for you: Mini Israel: This delightful park features over 385 beautifully crafted replica models of Israel’s most important historical and religious sites. As you explore, you’ll encounter miniatures of iconic landmarks, each meticulously designed. The park also includes a souvenir shop, several restaurants, recreation areas, and a lecture hall where you can watch films about Israel. Yad la-Shiryon (Armored Corps Memorial Site and Museum): Located on an Army base, this museum showcases an impressive collection of 100 tanks. For armored corps enthusiasts, it’s an absolute treat. The exhibits provide insights into military history, and you’ll get to see these powerful machines up close. Make sure to wear comfortable shoes, as there’s plenty to explore. Latrun Monastery: While you can only catch a glimpse of the entire monastery from the main road, it remains a peaceful and beautiful site. Please get informed regarding the visit opening hours before your visit, because they change seasonally. Latrun Fortress Ruins: Less than 200m outside from the entrance of the Latrun Monastery, we will find the entrance to a little walking trail that will take us to the Latrun Crusader Castle. The Latrun Crusader Castle was built around 1130, by a Castilian nobleman Rodrigo González de Lara who later gave it to the Templars. Not much is left of the building, but it is a nice walk and interesting visit. The walk in the trail should be around one kilometer in each direction. Here I will present only the map that takes you from Nazareth to Yad La Shirion in Latrun. All the other attractions are very close by, less than a kilometer one from the other, so it will be easy to find them.
